AUCD provides comments to CMS on change to CPT Code for Developmental Screening

On November 28, 2011 the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) published a proposed rule in the Federal Register announcing Medicare?s 2012 Resource-based Relative Value Scale (RBRVS) which includes a change to the status of CPT code 96110. AUCD is concerned that the new rule will make it more difficult for physicians to get reimbursed for developmental screening resulting in a reduction in the numbers of infants and young children who are screened for developmental disorders, including autism. AUCD has sent comments to CMS. We urge our Member Centers to do the same.
